Mitsubishi is set to launch its Delica D:3 passenger minivan, as well as the commercial version called the Delica Van, at the end of October in Japan. As is already known, the new Delica (which gets its name from Delivery Car, with the number 3 chosen by the company to denote a vehicle of minivan size) is a rebadged Nissan NV 200, one of the models supplied to MMC by Nissan on an OEM basis.

In the case of the passenger version, two trim levels are available, these being a G version, which seats seven in three rows, and a M variant, which is a two-row, five-seater.

The Delica D:3 is powered by a 1.6 litre engine, mated to an electronically-controlled four-speed automatic transmission; a manual transmission is available, but only with the commercial version, which also comes in two trim levels, DX and GX, the latter with a more passenger-focused trim.

Cadillac announced the 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe, the most recent and dramatic series and models of new production to be achieved. Scheduled to arrive in Cadillac showrooms in the spring of 2010 Cadillac CTS Coupe is a new luxury sports coupe destined to become a central part of the brand ladder magazine.

"Cadillac CTS Coupe is the new focal point of Cadillac, which expresses our design and technical capabilities," said Bryan Nesbitt, Cadillac general manager. "It is intended to appeal to a new generation of car enthusiasts."

The design of the Cadillac CTS Coupe is almost like the prototype was unveiled at the Detroit Auto North America in 2008.

A classic 2 +2 coupe is enhanced with advanced technologies available, such as rear-view camera system and a performance-oriented suspension system connected to a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Mazda will build a special edition of its rotary-powered four-door sports car called the RX-8 Spirit R, but it will only be available in Japan. It will be the last special edition RX-8 before Mazda ends production of the world’s only rotary-powered car in June 2012. The Hiroshima-based automaker expects to sell only 1000 Spirit Rs when it goes on sale November 24.

Spirit R models will be available in Aluminum Metallic, Sparkling Black Mica, or Crystal White Pearl Mica paint choices. Exclusive upgrades include special SPIRIT R badge, black bezels for exterior lighting (headlights, fog lights, taillights), piano black trim on the transmission tunnel, and side front and curtain airbags standard. Manual transmission models gain specially-made Spirit R bucket seats from Recaro and bronze 19-inch alloy wheels with 225/40R19 tires.

Cars equipped with automatic transmissions get black leather seats, steering wheel, and parking brake lever featuring red stitching. Front and rear center console lids and armrests get matching synthetic leather with red stitching. Slush box cars also get a sports suspension and larger brakes. Gun-metal finish 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/45R18 tires round out the upgrades.

The Spirit R name was also given to the final edition Mazda RX-7 when its Japanese production was discontinued in 2002 (the Mazda RX-7 left the North American market in 1995).

“Although RX-8 production is ending, the rotary engine will always represent the spirit of Mazda and Mazda remains committed to its ongoing development,” said Takashi Yamanouchi, Mazda’s Representative Director, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO, in a press release giving hope to rotary fans worldwide that the development plans for the vaunted RX-7’s successor is alive and well deep inside the automaker’s Hiroshima headquarters.

Automotive News often publishes graphics highlighting the various suppliers for new models, and they've published one of these for the upcoming 2012 CR-V.

This graphic happens to contain a little bit of info concerning the specifications of the 2012 CR-V, of particular interest is a new engine designation "New-K25". Horsepower for this 2.5L iteration of the venerable K-series engine family is listed at 201hp@6000rpm, with 177lb-ft of torque. This tends to confirms rumors that had been floating around for awhile concerning a 2.5L fitment in the 2012 CR-V.

There is also a "K24" listed, spec'd at 175hp and 170lb-ft. The info on this chart also suggests that the 2012 CR-V will launch with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Also, while we're talking about the 2012 CR-V, it's been reported in our forums that the new model will offer a RES (Rear Entertainment System) option. Presumably, this will be a DVD-based system like all current Honda and Acura RES setups. The 2012 CR-V is expected to reach dealerships in the November/December 2011 timeframe.

Shanghai GM has announced a new Cadillac SLS. This is one of the two new models - in collaboration with the Buick Excelle XT - which made its debut at the stand of the automobile in 2009 in Guangzhou Auto Show.




The new SLS is the next generation of Cadillac luxury sedan business SLS was introduced in China in 2006. It combines the elegance of traditional American luxury brand with cutting edge technology and is especially suitable for business elites. It is the first model of Shanghai GM OnStar-equipped.


The new Cadillac SLS comes in four variants are priced between 448,000 yuan and 698,000.

SIDI options under the motor fuel
The new Cadillac SLS will select two new world-class engines with direct fuel injection mated to a six-speed manual-automatic transmission. Engine 3.0-liter SIDI delivers 272 hp and 300 Nm, while the 3.6-liter SIDI engine produces a maximum power of 310 hp and 374 Nm of torque. In addition to the impressive power, the engine reduces fuel consumption by 9 percent and produces less hydrocarbon emissions than similar plants.
